Give an old T-shirt a new life and turn it into your own pair of knickers!

Have a favourite T-shirt you no longer wear? Bring it along and learn how to transform it into a comfortable, handmade pair of knickers.

In this hands-on, three-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to recreate a favourite pair of knickers using your T-shirt as the main fabric. I’ll guide you through creating your own pattern, preparing the fabric and sewing your knickers from start to finish.

It’s a great introduction to underwear making and a lovely way to give unwanted clothing a second life through creative reuse.

What you’ll learn:

● How to trace your favourite pair of knickers to create your own pattern.

● Understanding the different pattern pieces and how they fit together.

● How to choose a suitable T-shirt and make the most of its fabric.

● How to position and cut your pattern pieces from your T-shirt.

● Sewing techniques for working with stretchy fabrics.

● How to attach elastic and finish the edges.

● Assembling your knickers from start to finish.

What to bring:

● A favourite pair of knickers you’d like to copy (ideally a simple style without lace or complicated detailing).

● One or two old stretchy T-shirts, depending on their size and the size of knickers you’re making.

● Approximately 2.5 metres of elastic suitable for knickers.

● Matching sewing thread.

● Your own sewing machine (essential).

● Basic sewing kit, including fabric scissors, pins and measuring tape.

A note about sewing experience:

You should have basic sewing machine experience and know how to thread and operate your machine. This workshop is not designed for complete beginners.

● Maximum 6 participants.

● Suitable for: Anyone with basic sewing experience.

● Format: Hands-on workshop with individual guidance.

● Equipment: Standard domestic sewing machine. No overlocker required.

● Booking: Essential.
