Knickers Making Workshop

Love your favourite pair of knickers? Learn how to make your own!

Join us for a hands-on, three-hour workshop where you’ll learn how to recreate a favourite pair of knickers and make a new pair from scratch.

Bring along a pair that fits you comfortably, and I’ll guide you through the process of using it to create your own sewing pattern. You’ll learn the basics of knicker construction, how to work with stretchy fabrics and how to put all the pieces together to make a comfortable, well-fitting pair.

Whether you’re interested in making your own underwear, learning a new sewing skill or simply trying something a little different, this workshop is a great introduction to lingerie making.

What you’ll learn:

● How to trace your favourite pair of knickers to create your own pattern.

● Understanding the different pattern pieces and how they fit together.

● Choosing suitable fabrics and understanding stretch.

● How to cut and prepare your fabric.

● Sewing techniques for working with stretchy fabrics.

● How to attach elastic and finish the edges.

● Assembling your knickers from start to finish.

What to bring:

● A favourite pair of knickers you’d like to copy (ideally a simple style without lace or complicated detailing).

● ½ metre of stretchy fabric suitable for underwear.

● Approximately 2.5 metres of elastic suitable for knickers.

● Matching sewing thread.

● Your own sewing machine (essential).

● Basic sewing kit, including fabric scissors, pins and measuring tape.

A note about sewing experience:

You should have basic sewing machine experience and know how to thread and operate your machine. This workshop is not designed for complete beginners.

● Duration: 3 hours.

● Maximum 6 participants.

● Suitable for: Anyone with basic sewing experience.

● Format: Hands-on workshop with individual guidance.

● Overlocker: Not required. All sewing will be done using a standard domestic sewing machine.

Sewing Social Club – Bring Your Own Project

Do you have a sewing project waiting to be finished? Need help understanding your sewing machine or mastering a particular technique?

The Sewing Social Club is a relaxed, informal sewing session where everyone works on their own individual project. Unlike a structured sewing lesson, there is no set programme or shared project. Instead, you bring along whatever you’re working on, and I’ll provide individual guidance, practical advice and support along the way.

Whether you’re a beginner who needs a helping hand or a more experienced sewer looking to improve your skills, this is an opportunity to work at your own pace, ask questions and learn through doing.

From making clothes and accessories to repairing, altering or creating something completely new, bring along your ideas and let’s get sewing!

What to bring:

● Your own sewing machine (essential).

● Your sewing kit and any tools you normally use.

● Your current project, including fabric and any necessary materials.
